Animal Care Assistant - 35 hours per week (Full Time)

We are currently looking for a full-time animal care assistant to join our team here at the RSPCA Canterbury & District animal centre.

If you're keen on finding a "hands-on" job working with animals (and a great team of like-minded people), then this could be the perfect role for you! The position is for 35 hours a week and is predominantly focused around the feeding, care and rehoming of our centre's residents: much of the job does involve cleaning so we're looking for someone who is not afraid to get "stuck-in" when it comes to tackling the messier problems! We are also looking for someone who is confident in a front-facing role, as the job requires a good deal of interaction with people (RSPCA volunteers and members of the public) as well as animals, so a good level of public presentation (as well as a sense of humour!) is essential.

The ideal candidate will have had previous experience of working with animals, and the possession of an animal care qualification would be desirable, but it is not essential. We are also looking for someone to help with our outreach initiatives (particularly school talks/workshops/visits) so some experience in this area (education/presenting) would be beneficial to your application.

For more information or to apply for the position, please email the Centre Manager, Beth Hixson, at

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 12th September 2016 (5pm) .
