We work with the National organisation and its Inspectors but are an
independent charity and entirely self funding.
The only finances available to us come from local supporters.
Apart from shop managers, everyone else involved with the branch gives
their time and expertise unpaid as a volunteer.
Even the managers work a percentage of their week as volunteers.
We have two main objectives:
Providing care and a place of safety for unwanted, abused or injured animals.
Raising the funds to be able to carry out this work.
Currently we are able to take in and rehome cats although we have now
outgrown the present space.
We also offer a first stop facility to injured or sick wildlife.
A shortage of suitable accommodation means that rescued dogs
have to be sent outside our area.
To remedy this situation and extend our welfare work we are in the middle of an intensive
fundraising drive to build the RSPCA Canterbury & District Branch Animal Centre (CADAC)
