Welcome to the RSPCA Canterbury, Dover and District Branch Website.

With Canterbury at its centre, the Branch serves a large part of Kent from east of Sittingbourne to Dover and includes Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Sandwich, Deal, and other towns and villages within this area.

We are an independent Branch of the RSPCA, licensed by the national organisation but fully responsible for raising our own funds. Our work is made possible through donations and the sale of goods in ten RSPCA shops located in Canterbury, Deal, Dover, Faversham, Herne Bay, Sittingbourne, Tankerton and Whitstable.

Working from the Canterbury and Dover Animal Centre, which opened in October 2012, the activities of the Branch principally involve providing care for, and rehoming, unwanted or neglected domestic pets. We also assist with neutering schemes and offer a micro-chipping service by appointment at the Animal Centre for dogs, cats and rabbits at just £10 per animal.

Please note that all reported cases of cruelty to animals are investigated and dealt with by the national RSPCA inspectorate, not by this Branch. To report a case of cruelty, please call the Cruelty line: 0300 1234 999, or follow this link to the national RSPCA website where you can also ask our 24-hour online virtual assistant about emergency services and most animal welfare questions.
